Privacy policy

The short version: we only receive what you choose to send us, we use it to reply to you, and the site does not track you.
Who we are
Digital Friday Studios is a design and development studio based in Davao City, Philippines. For the personal data described on this page, we are the personal information controller under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
For anything about your data, write to our data protection contact at digitalfridaystudios@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
If you use the contact form: your name, your email address, your business name and starting point if you give them, and your message. We use them to read your inquiry and reply to it, and, if we go on to talk about a project, to prepare a scope and a quote.
If you email us directly: your email address and whatever you write.
We process this because you asked us to respond, which the Data Privacy Act allows as a step taken at your request before any agreement (Section 12(b)), and because answering inquiries is a legitimate interest of the studio (Section 12(f)).
Please don't include sensitive personal information, such as health details or government ID numbers, in a message. We don't need it to help you.
Nothing else. The site has no accounts and no logins. It runs no advertising pixels and no tracking scripts, and it sets no cookies of its own. The one measurement it makes is described under Cloudflare below. We do not sell personal data or share it for marketing.
What is stored in your browser
Two small settings, neither of which is sent to us:
- Your motion setting. If you switch the site to Lo-Fi, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so it stays that way next time. Switching back to Hi-Fi removes it.
- Whether you have seen the full opening animation. Saved in your browser's local storage, so later visits get a short version instead. It stays until you clear this site's data in your browser.
Services that handle data for us
The site is small, but a few other companies are involved in running it. Each works under its own privacy policy.
- Web3Forms delivers the contact form to our inbox. It also keeps a copy of each submission on its own servers, hosted on Amazon Web Services, under its retention policy, which is currently up to three years unless deleted sooner.
- Google (Gmail) hosts our studio inbox, where inquiries arrive and where we reply from.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and forwards email sent to our @digitalfridaystudios.com addresses to that inbox. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and the details of each request to serve pages and protect the site from abuse. If it needs to check that traffic isn't automated, it can set a security cookie of its own.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and measures how quickly pages load, so we can see which pages are read and whether the site is fast enough. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other sites, and is switched off for visitors in the European Union. We see totals, such as page views and load times, never who you are.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the fonts load.
- Live previews. On a computer, the previews in "Studio work" load our concept sites directly from their hosting on Cloudflare. On a phone, they only load when you tap for a live preview. Those sites also load images, fonts, and scripts from services such as Unsplash, Google Fonts, jsDelivr, and Google Maps, which receive your IP address when they do.
- Links out to Facebook send nothing until you click one. From then on, that site's own policy applies.
- WhatsApp and Messenger, both run by Meta, carry any message you choose to send us there, under Meta's own policies. Calls and texts go through your mobile network as usual.
Some of these providers store or process data outside the Philippines, including in the United States. We remain responsible for the personal data we pass to them.
How long we keep it
We keep an inquiry for as long as the conversation, and any work that follows from it, is going on, so we can remember what was said. There is no automatic deletion schedule on our inbox, so if you want an inquiry removed, ask. We will delete it from our inbox and from our Web3Forms account.
Keeping it safe
Every page, and the contact form, travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Because the site holds no database of visitors, there is very little here to lose. Your message lives in the services listed above, each of which runs its own security.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:
- be told how your personal data is being processed, which is what this page is for
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- object to its processing, or have it blocked or deleted
- receive it in a commonly used electronic format
- claim damages if you are harmed by inaccurate or unlawfully used data
- file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (opens in a new tab)
To use any of these, write to digitalfridaystudios@gmail.com and tell us what you'd like. There is no form to fill in. We may ask you to confirm the request comes from the same email address, so we don't hand your data to someone else. If you are visiting from outside the Philippines, we will honor the same requests.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts handling data differently, for example by adding a new service, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. Questions about any of it can go through the contact page or to digitalfridaystudios@gmail.com.
